The 2010 Vintage was one of the most extreme vintages in Napa and Sonoma Counties. It began with a cool spring accompanied by frequent rains. Early summer temperatures stayed cool due to persistent morning fog. This cool early season was soon greeted by three days of extreme heat, where some vineyards registered 116F. Due to excellent canopy management our Sauvignon Blanc was spared from sun damage experienced by others. Other than the unusual heat wave in August, the vintage was typified as a cold year, leading to longer hang time, thus developing complex flavors and vibrant acidity.
The 2010 Samantha’s Sauvignon Blanc has complex aromas of pear, fresh flowers, dried citrus & honeysuckle. The bright acidity is balanced with a layered texture and minerality that pushes through the smooth finish. Complemented with ripe grapefruit, fresh peaches & lemon drops.
